Behind the screen, significant effort to fully integrate the 400X with FSX SimConnect provides the lowest resource drain possible.
The 747-400 operating experience hasnt changed dramatically, since this is, at its core, still a 747-400 simulation, but the 747-400 takes full advantage of the new core technologies previously unavailable in FS9! From vertex animation of wing flex and flight control warping to bump mapping and enhanced lighting capabilities, we think you will find the PMDG 747-400 looks magnificent in FSX.
This latest iteration of our award winning 747-400 simulation for Microsoft Flight Simulator X will allow fans of the 747-400 to enjoy a long future with the 747-400 operating within FSX. The result is a simulation experience that capitalizes on many new technologies inside FSX while placing the lowest possible load on the simulation. We have invested a tremendous amount of time optimizing, researching and closely integrating our 747-400 into FSX. This process of sharing and assistance has allowed us to dig deep into the FSX platform in order to bring as much benefit as possible to the FSX user. During the past eighteen months we have worked closely with our counterparts on Microsofts ACES development team to help identify, quantify and resolve many problems within the FSX release platform that had the potential to hinder complex aircraft simulation within FSX. When we obtained our first advance copy of FSX in early 2006, we anticipated a significant amount of work would be required to move the Queen of the Skies simulation line to FSX, but nothing could have prepared us for the hurdles we would face. It has taken longer than we ever imagined, but you now own a copy of PMDGs legendary 747-400 flight simulation for FSX! FSX represents a new direction for the simulator platform, with backward compatibility no longer easily assured and new technologies that take time and learning to be included in new PMDG products.
